Overview

Chantel Adams, CKP, is a Senior Intellectual Property Paralegal at Gray Ice Higdon — and one of the most experienced IP paralegals in the region. With nearly 30 years in the legal field, she has spent almost her entire career working at the intersection of intellectual property and client service, building the kind of institutional knowledge and professional instinct that can only come from decades of dedicated practice.

Chantel manages worldwide patent and trademark portfolios for in-house legal teams, large corporations, and non-U.S. firms seeking local counsel support. She keeps portfolios on track, deadlines protected, and clients informed. But what truly sets her apart is her approach: she doesn’t wait to be asked. She anticipates what attorneys and clients need, keeps communication flowing, and leads by example within the team she helps shape.

Practice Focus

Chantel’s practice centers on the operational backbone of IP — the work that keeps portfolios healthy, deadlines met, and clients confident:

  • Worldwide patent portfolio management — deadline monitoring, maintenance coordination, and reporting
  • Trademark prosecution docketing and deadline management
  • IP prosecution and maintenance across patent, trademark, and copyright matters, including software, electronics, computer gaming, and consumer products
  • Developing best practices for the firm’s IP paralegal team
  • Direct client communication with in-house legal teams, large companies, and non-U.S. local counsel

Chantel is known for her attention to detail, her dedication to the work, and her leadership on the team. She keeps things moving, keeps everyone informed, and keeps the focus where it belongs — on the client.

Client Perspective: “We can count on her to provide what we need anytime we ask.”
