Overview

John is a registered patent attorney and concentrates his legal practice in intellectual property, particularly in patents, trademarks, copyrights and computer law. His practice includes portfolio management and strategic decision making for competitive benefit. He spends most of his time advising his clients in prosecution matters, litigation and portfolio analytics.

He files and prosecutes patent applications in multiple technology areas including machine learning, autonomous driving, machine automation and control systems, medical imaging systems including treatment and device control, image processing, and lighting systems.  John frequently works with the engineers and software developers that are directly implementing today’s leading edge techologies.

Prior to entering law school, John worked for several years at IBM in product development, computer software engineering and hardware control. After law school, he was employed in the legal department of a multi-national corporation working with domestic and international patent prosecution and portfolio management. John is active in the AIPLA and regularly presents at various national seminars.

In his spare time, John loves to travel, walk in the mountains and spend time with his wife Colleen and their family.
