Dr. Gibson has experience in many aspects of intellectual property practice including patent prosecution, strategic client counseling on patents, inter partes review cases, and patent litigation. Dr. Gibson is a registered patent attorney and a partner in the intellectual property and intellectual property litigation practice groups. She assists clients in obtaining, maintaining, and defending patent portfolios in a variety of technologies including medical devices, agricultural equipment, fertilizer compositions, power tools, lawn equipment, consumer appliances, and others.
Dr. Gibson was recently a part of a Gray Ice Higdon trial team that obtained a patent infringement verdict and $11,400,000 in damages plus ongoing royalties for our client. Sioux Steel Company v. Prairie Land Millwright Services, Inc., 1:16-cv-02212 (N.D. Ill)
Dr. Gibson received her J.D. from University of Louisville Brandies School of Law. Prior to law school Dr. Gibson received her PhD in Biology focusing on the biogeography and microbial ecology of Pseudomonas sp. and evaluating differences in the distribution of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in homes with and without a young child with cystic fibrosis.
